Bendigo Uncorked Week wraps up

The inaugural Bendigo Uncorked Week drew to a close on 15th October with rave reviews and happy patrons.

From 6th to 15th October more than 1,100 wine and food lovers immersed themselves in a range of events run by the Bendigo Winegrowers Association in partnership with iconic restaurants across the city.

Bendigo Winegrowers Association President Wes Vine said the first ever Bendigo Uncorked Week was a huge success.

"There was a lot of buzz about the week before it even began.

“We knew we could be in for a big week, but the patrons, the atmosphere, the engagement during the whole week was simply amazing,” he said.

''We had lovers of great Bendigo wine who regularly attend our events, and many new patrons who are expanding their knowledge and taste of Bendigo wine.

"Our Bendigo Uncorked Week attracted people from Melbourne, regional Victoria, interstate and locals to Bendigo. It boosted Bendigo's local economy as most of the people travelling to our events chose to stay in local accommodation, and visit local restaurants and retail outlets," said Mr Vine.

Mr Vine said support from sponsors such as Bendigo Bank Insurance, Bart N Print, Fastway Couriers, City of Greater Bendigo, Wine Bank on View and Bendigo Tourism had helped make the week a big success.

There were 10 unique wine and food events held during Bendigo Uncorked Week with nearly 80 different wines on show.

“It was a great week to showcase Bendigo wine, and the great city of Bendigo so we’ll definitely be bringing it back next year”, said Mr Vine.
