Congratulations to Melanie Chester, Chief Winemaker at Sutton Grange Winery - picking up the Young Gun of Wine PEOPLE'S CHOICE Award 2018.
The PEOPLE'S CHOICE was decided by the public at two tasting events in Melbourne and Sydney.
"We're so excited to receive the Young Gun of Wine PEOPLE'S CHOICE Award for 2018. Our wines are grown and made to be shared and enjoyed with the people you love. So to know that people enjoy our wines enough to buy a bottle and share it with the people they love is really satisfying," Mel Chester said on winning the award.
"The award is presented to the person who sells the most wine at the two tasting events. So rather than being asked to vote with pencil and paper, they are being asked as consumers to vote with their wallets," said Mel Chester.
You can meet Mel this July, on Sunday 8th as Bendigo region wineries throw open the doors of their sacred barrel halls for Barrel Tasting Weekend. Six wineries across the region will offer a taste of their wines in barrel, and an opportunity to meet the winemaker. Sutton Grange Winery will have barrel tastings at 11am, 1pm and 3pm on Sunday 8th July. It's free to attend, but booking is essential. Click for more details on Barrel Tasting Weekend.
