Glenwillow Vineyard
We are proud to introduce our vineyard situated near the Yandoit Valley south of Newstead in Central Victoria.
Our philosophy is to produce premium quality wine grapes in an environmentally responsible manner with a focus on balancing viticultural best practice and natural agricultural methods, with a commitment to`clean and green' organic principles.
And of course to have fun and enjoy the challenges of wine grape growing… including the rewards of the end product.
Our Vineyard
Situated on an elevated, north-facing aspect, the vineyard maximises the benefits of the sun for vine growth and health, and regular breezes for disease control and gentle ripening. We have 3 hectares under vine consisting of mainly premium Shiraz sourced from Wynns Michael vineyard, with smaller amounts of Cabernet Sauvignon, Nebbiolo and Barbera. Our vines are carefully hand-tended, hand-pruned and hand-picked.
Quality is the cornerstone of our enterprise.
We have no cellar door facility but offer a mail order or direct sale service. Our grapes are crafted by selected local winemakers to reflect the “terroir” of this cool-climate, Bendigo locality. Our wines are all estate grown. They have soft, complex styles which integrate intense fruit flavours with fine tannin structure. Our interest in Italian varieties, Barbera and Nebbiolo, reflects the strong Swiss-Italian history of this area. Occasionally, we release Reserve wines which are elegant, intense flavoured wines with excellent structure and a superb, long finish. You should not miss these.
Gold Medal...
Glenwillows 2005 Reserve Shiraz was awarded a gold medal at the Australian Small Winemakers Show in October 2006.
The Australian Small Winemakers Show is considered to be the most prestigious wine show for small winemakers in Australia and New Zealand.
