Water Wheel Memsie Homestead Shiraz Malbec Cabernet Sauvignon 2008
02 February 2010
This reasonably priced Bendigo-region red is an interesting alternative to the ho-hum, sweetish reds that increasingly populate the under-$15 territory. It's an honest, rustic style with earth, spice and foresty notes adding interest to ripe berry fruit. The palate is smooth with a slightly eucalypty regional thread, finishing with balanced, dry, grainy tannins. ****
