Balgownie Cabernet Sauvignon 2005

13 November 2007

Balgownie Estate launched the resurgence of the long-abandoned Bendigo wine region in the late 1960s.  This tightly constructed young cabernet has a core of crushed blackcurrant cabernet character dressed in floral and leafy hints.  Oak is notable, without taking over.  It's medium-bodied and tasty with a dry backbone of tine grainy tannins.
