Bendigo Wines go to Federation Square
05 June 2012
Six Bendigo region wineries will be heading to Melbourne tomorrow for the Federation Square Victorian Wine Showcase; with Bendigo one of this month’s feature regions.
The wineries will be offering tastings to a large crowd of savvy, wine enthusiasts in a stunning setting within the Federation Square complex. The tasting sessions will be held over two evenings, Wednesday 6th and Thursday 7th June from 4.30pm to 8.30pm.
Whether you’re a wine buff or enjoy discovering new wines you can taste some of Victoria’s finest drops at Federation Square. The Wine Showcase series offers visitors the chance to rub shoulders with the winemakers, enjoy the latest offerings from their cellar door and help judge the ‘People’s Choice’ for best wines.
Bendigo wineries have been thrilled by the success of this event in the past and are encouraged each time by the large, discerning wine crowds that attend.
The local wineries heading to Melbourne include Black Estate, Mount Alexander Winery, Newbridge Wines, Rivergate Wines, Sandhurst Ridge Winery and Sutton Grange Winery.
The Bendigo Wine Region is acclaimed for its rich, ripe red wines. Crowds can warm up with tastings of Shiraz, Cabernet and Merlot and for white wine enthusiasts there will be fine Chardonnay, Riesling, Viognier and more on offer.
Tasting tickets are $25 per person and the event in Melbourne includes tastings, a selection of fine food and smooth live jazz.
