It’s back - the World’s Longest Lunch comes to Rosalind Park
01 February 2010
As part of the 2010 Melbourne Food and Wine Festival, there will be a World’s Longest Lunch event in Rosalind Park, Bendigo on Friday 12 March 2010. Presented by the Bendigo Winegrowers Association and Wine Bank on View, this event provides an opportunity to enjoy six courses at a gorgeous table that will stretch along the grand boulevards of Bendigo’s historic Rosalind Park. Savour regionally-inspired dishes created by Wine Bank on View. Discover superb local ingredients in dishes like Pan Seared Bendigo Lamb with a Pea, Mint & Parsley Puree and Pepper Green Farm Baby Salad, Roasted Local Potatoes, Istra Chorizo, Asparagus and Smoked Hollandaise and Holy Goat Labneh with Sprout Bakery Ciabatta & Pomegranate Dressing. Bendigo wines have been carefully selected to match each of the six courses, through a blind tasting process. Known mostly for rich, ripe reds, the region offers an impressive variety as you’ll discover thanks to home-grown sommelier Lincoln Riley. There’ll be sparkling, white, red and fortified wines at this event. Lincoln is currently the Head Sommelier at Melbourne's award winning restaurant Taxi Dining Room having worked for many years in the wine and food industry both in Australia and Europe, including time locally at Wine Bank on View. His wine lists have earned him high praise. In the 2010 Age Good Food Guide he was acknowledged for a Wine Service Award and Taxi Dining Room won the Wine List of the Year. He has also won the Australian Sommelier of the Year award at the Gourmet Traveller Wine Awards and Taxi entered the Hall of Fame, for his imaginative approach and for engaging diners in their wine experience. Wines featured at the World’s Longest Lunch event extend from the northern plains of the Bendigo Wine region to the cool slopes of Mount Alexander. Look forward to wines from Black Estate, Harcourt Valley Vineyard, Knots Wines, Mandurang Valley Winery, Pondalowie, Sandhurst Ridge Winery, Sheer Drop Wines, Sutton Grange Winery and Wellbush Vineyard. To take your seat at this superb event it is essential to book. Tickets are $95 per person for this six course experience and can be purchased from Wine Bank on View at 45 View Street, Bendigo or by calling (03) 5444 4655.
