Export Success for Water Wheel

17 November 2009

Water Wheel Vineyards, a family owned wine producer based at Bridgewater on Loddon, has had further export sales success this month with a large shipment of wine to Denmark.

The order, totalling 36,000 bottles, is for a major wine promotion to be run by the prestigious Danish wine retailer, H J Hansen in early 2010.

The wine, 2007 Memsie Homestead red, is produced by Water Wheel from grapes grown on their own vineyards, including the historic Memsie Homestead property.

The Memsie Homestead was the site of one of the first vineyards planted in Victoria, dating back to pre gold rush days. Whilst the original vineyard has long since ceased to exist, The Cumming family, owners of Water Wheel Vineyards, saw the potential to grow grapes there and purchased the property in 1995. The property now produces full flavoured wines ready for immediate consumption.

Water Wheel Vineyards is located on Raywood Road, Bridgewater On Loddon and the phone number is 5437 3060.
