Tri-Bendigo Wine Wander

03 September 2008

Welcome Spring with an afternoon of fine food, live music, and a chat to winemakers over their latest vintage wines.  This Saturday 6th September three of Bendigo’s popular wineries, Balgownie Estate, Sandhurst Ridge Winery and Connor Park Winery present the Tri-Bendigo Wine Wander from 11am – 5pm.

At Balgownie Estate enjoy an antipasto platter and music by the Vikki Doig Jazz Duo.  This winery is one of Australia’s great small vineyards famed for its long-lived Cabernet Sauvignon and Shiraz.

At Sandhurst Ridge, a gourmet pizza and music by Andy Garlick, an acoustic folk soloist will delight.  This picturesque vineyard setting is coupled with award-winning, hand-crafted wines that are full of character.

At Connor Park savour a beef bourguignon pie and music by Chris de Araugo & Ray Shaw, acoustic roots music.  Situated on the Bullock Creek, the original vineyard was planted in the late 1960s.

Start your Wine Wander at any of the three wineries from 11am and meander your way to the others throughout the afternoon.   Bookings are essential with tickets $40 per person.  To book tickets for the Tri-Bendigo Wine Wander call Bendigo Tourism on 1800 813 153 or purchase tickets and accommodation online via www.bendigotourism.com

As a special offer for the event, if patrons select and purchase four bottles of wine at each winery, they’ll receive two Reidel Shiraz Wine glasses (valued at $80) for free.

This event is the perfect way to spend an early Spring day, with locally produced food, wine and live music.  These three wineries are all located in the Bendigo Wine region and this event is part of Bendigo’s Winter Feast of Food, Wine & Art.
