Bendigo wine producer Harcourt Valley Vineyard has been awarded the SNF Floerger Trophy for Best Open Class Cabernet in the prestigious Air Liquide Concours des Vins de Victoria.
Conducted over two weeks, the 2015 edition of this unique wine show included entries of 435 wines from more than 100 wineries. Harcourt Valley Vineyard is delighted with the win said Winemaker Quinn Livingstone.
"We're very proud of the 2010 Cabernet/Franc/Malbec that won the SNF Floerger Trophy.
"Only 500 bottles of this wine were produced and have been stored for release in 2015.
"All bottles have been numbered and with a price tag of $100 a bottle we are pleased that the quality matches the price," said Mr Livingstone.
Harcourt Valley Vineyard did particularly well scooping seven medals in the show. They dominated the Cabernet class winning all three Gold medals, along with a Silver and Bronze. The 2010 Cabernet/Franc/Malbec then went on to win the SNF Floerger Trophy for Best Open Class Cabernet in the show.
Air Liquide Concours des Vins de Victoria is organised by the French-Australian Chamber of Commerce & Industry to celebrate and recognise the diversity and quality of Victorian wines and 'terriors'.
