Summer 2017 in the Bendigo Wine Region
With vintage just over the horizon the winemakers of Bendigo are all talking about the great season we’ve had. Cool overnight temperatures combined with warm days, and the season starting out with good soil moisture from some decent Spring rain.
Our grape bunches are nestled comfortably on the vines ready for harvest. A combination of science and old-fashioned tasting goes into determining when to harvest, but in the Bendigo region it’s between February and April depending on the variety and weather.
Learn more about the winemaking process at two of our upcoming events; Regional World’s Longest Lunch Bendigo on Friday 31 March, and the Strategem Bendigo Winemakers Festival on Saturday 29 April. Both events will feature white and red wines from the Bendigo wine region, as well as food and music that will make you smile.
